Hello my lovelies,
Yes, it's been an embarrassingly long time since my last post, again. I miss the old uni days when I could post all day err'day, without a care in the world (except for essays and seminar prep and living off Tesco own brand food...). Anyhow, I'm continuing my own yearly autumn trend today with yet another berry shade lip product - I'm sorry, I'm just obsessed! I think if you look back through all my posts around this time of year I've mentioned several lip stains and pens, so today I'm injecting something new with a bit more moisture than your average stain - perfect for the chillier mornings!
I'm a huge fan of Bourjois as they provided some of my first ever make-up products - my first mascara was a brown volume-boosting affair, which I teamed with one of their dual-ended kohl pencils in purple - wahey! I used to swear by their 10 hour sleep foundation as well, until I discovered high end bases, much to the chagrin of my purse. This year though they have really stepped up their game with new release upon new release and as I'm a sucker for anything pencil shaped and bright I instantly fell in love with the Colour Boost lipsticks.
This is the shade Plum Russian, which despite its initial dark appearance translates to a nice berry pink when worn. I like the effect after a quick swipe (super easy to apply on the go!) as it adds a gentle pop of colour, although you can build this if you like. Of course it wouldn't be a proper review without some more silly photos of my face to show you what it looks like...
It has a very soft glossy texture so I wouldn't recommend applying too much though, unless you're a fan of sticky lips. A slight negative is the twist-up action - always a fab idea it's true, but I've found my pencil likes to twist itself up on its own when in my bag so I occasionally open it to find the tip all mashed up. It's something I can live with though! I find it perfect for everyday use and although it doesn't beat more medicinal lip care products it certainly leaves my lips feeling moisturised and soft.

Bourjois new releases are currently on offer in Superdrug and Boots. This normally retails at £7.99 but if you're a bargain hunter like me you'll no doubt keep an eye out for 3 for 2s!
What a gorgeous colour, it suits you so well! <3

Ooh this looks fabulous on you! The perfect color IMO. I love Bourjois - they're less available here in the US but I discovered them a few years ago and got hooked!
ReplyDeleteNice lip pencil.
